  • Friday -- Our school day begins 7:30 a.m. and the day ends at 12:00 p.m. for all grades Pre-K – 8th grade.
    • Lunch is still provided on Fridays.

Students will not be permitted into the school building before 7:25 a.m., unless they are attending the AM Extended Day Program.

Tardy Students

Students arriving at 8:00 a.m. or later must report to the office to sign in and will be marked as tardy. In the event that a student is tardy to school 10 times, regardless of reason, this will equate to one unexcused absence.

Absence From School

Good attendance is crucial to a student’s education and is recognized by the school. When a student is absent, it is important that a phone call from a parent or guardian be made to the attendance line each day that the student is absent. The call should be made in the morning as early as possible and prior to 8:00 AM. Parents may call the main attendance line at 763.777.8977 to leave a message with your name, student’s name, grade and reason for absence. If the school is not notified of the absence by phone or in writing, the absence will be considered unexcused. Please review the Parent Handbook for further information on what constitutes excused absences, unexcused absences, and truancy.

Early Dismissal

If your student must leave school early because of a health appointment or other reason, please notify their homeroom teacher and the front office in advance. Upon picking up your student, you must sign your child out in the front office.  Athlos strongly encourages families to schedule appointments during non-school hours whenever possible. When a student is leaving school early, students must be picked up from the front office. Students may not be picked up from their classrooms.

School Closures
Early dismissal or school closings due to storms or other emergencies will be announced via:
  • Mass phone and email message sent from the school
  • WCCO A.M. 830
  • KSTP TV Channel 5
  • KMSP TV Channel 9
  • KARE TV Channel 11
  • UPN Channel 29

Students will be transported to their regular bus stop, or as close to home as possible, depending on conditions and circumstances. During extremely bad weather, parents should listen for these broadcasts to ensure the student’s safety from bus to home. Each family should have an emergency plan in place that the student can follow if an early dismissal occurs.
