Look at the Week September 25th
Hello First Grade Families!
Math: We will finish Unit One in our Everyday Math curriculum. We will be reviewing for the unit assessment Monday and taking the unit one assessment on Tuesday. Wednesday we will begin Unit Two.
Language Arts: This week we will complete Unit One in our new Benchmark curriculum. We are learning how living things grow and change. We are working on end punctuation and sentence structure while creating complete sentences. We will be working on short o and spelling short o words. On Friday we will be taking our third reading comprehension and end punctuation assessment.

Reading Skills: This week we will be learning to spell three letter words with short o. If your child does not know their letter names and sounds, please review them daily.
Science: We will be learning how parents are similar to their offspring, and we will learn about the life cycle of plants. Science experiment: We will plant marigold seeds and we will observe the plant life cycle as it moves through each state.
Reminders:
Homework for the week is sent home on Monday and should be returned to school on Friday.
Send a healthy snack with your student each day.
Make sure students have gym shoes daily. Students can leave an extra pair at school if they’d like.
Make sure you let the front office know of changes to bus or parent pick up.
